A Case of Distal Myopathy Improved with Boikyangwie-tang

Abstract

|
|
Distal myopathy is a rare muscular disease and Nonaka type is known to be inherited as autosomal recessive trait and to have no specific treatment. Hereby, we report a case of distal myopathy diagnosised by EMG. The clinical symptoms were slowly progressive symmetrical muscle weakness and wasting of all 4 extremities, so the patient could not sustain for herself. After admission, the patient was improved in motor power and general condition with the treatment of Boikyangwie-tang(buyiyangwei-tang), acupuncture and physical exercise.
